Frequently asked question
Below are answers to questions we hear often. Give us a call if we can help you further. Remember: You have the right to influence scope, discuss pricing and select your builder.
How Much will this cost?
As a property owner and customer of AusHail, all services and construction are completed at no cost to you. We invoice the insurance company. The most you will have to pay is your insurance excess (this may be waived by your insurance company or otherwise).
What if i don't have damage?
Yay! If the damage report results indicate no damage, you will be given a copy of the report and again, will not be charged anything for the services or report. Please note: 73% of customers were unaware of damage to their property until the on-site damage report was completed. Most damage is not visible to an untrained eye.
will this affect my insurance rates?
Although insurance companies will not guarantee premiums, a storm (hail) claim is a no-fault claim. When a large storm occurs, most insurers raise the rates of everyone who lives in the storm path, regardless of a claim being filed. For answers about your specific situation, contact your project manager.
what about the insurance company's builder
The insurance company involves a builder to come and inspect the property. They may also involve an assessor, sub-contractor(s), or engineer. The role of those involved at this point of the process is to determine the scope of work and pricing. The next steps are the most important in the whole process (including whether to accept the proposed scope and pricing).
What about the actual construction?
Once scope and price is agreed upon, it is time for construction. At this point, together we have influenced scope, discussed pricing and now it is time to inform your insurance company of your choice of builder. As the owner, you have control over who does construction.
Does this come with dramas?
No...you are your insurance company's customer. They will take care of you. AusHail's involvement is simply to hold them accountable to be fair and to provide a one stop service-through-construction relationship. The AusHail team prides itself in handling the details, resulting in a seamless experience.
